em_mg_2320waiting for the moment is helpful to capturing great images, but how long do you have to wait if you don’t know what you are waiting for?  I was intending on a B&W capture of these boats at the first freeze on the twin lakes.  the sun was quite higher when i arrived and the glare was too hot for a capture at this time.  knowing the the amount of  detail i was after i had to wait for the sun to set lower on the horizon and actually i shot this photo just at the  moment the sun dipped into the trees leaving a great sense of light, but rendering enough detail on the frozen lake and the aluminum boats.  with the help of pre-visualizing i was able to wait patiently and knew when to begin the capture.
